Co-founders Jay Swansson and Joe Griffin launched ClearVoice back in 2014, an end-to-end content marketing platform solution, in Phoenix. Since then, their lean team has grown the company without little investment in sales and marketing and is on track to exceed $5 million in revenue in its first year.

Recently, the company was a finalist in the Arizona Commerce Authority Fall 2015 Innovation Challenge and took home $250,000. Today, the company announced the close of $1.1 million round of funding, led by Utah-based Peak Ventures with participation from Desert Angels, PC Ventures, and two undisclosed angel investors.

“We hit the product, revenue, and delivery milestones we set out to achieve,” said ClearVoice co-founder Jay Swansson said in a statement. “We came to a point where the business proved itself on paper and in practice, and we knew that seeking investment to accelerate growth made sense.”

With the fund, the company will now put some lettuce towards sales and marketing, as well as continue to build out more features for their Content Studio and hire product talent.

As for building a company in Arizona, Griffin said in a statement, “We found many angel investors and a few seed stage institutions that had interest and chose the right fits at the stage we are in,” said co-founder Joe Griffin. “We’re happy to see Arizona and Utah ecosystems in rapid growth mode – it’s an exciting time.”
